By Horse Of The Year and Champion German 3YO colt LOMITAS, CLERIHEW is a daughter of the Irish Group winning racemare Clerio, herself a granddaughter of Horse Of The Year and Champion New Zealand race mare LA MER, whose 24 wins included the Gr.1 New Zealand OAKS. Clerihew also shares the same 3rd dam LA MER as BENBATL, whom is becoming one of the top race horses of the world.

Purchased by Paul Moroney Bloodstock at the 2005 Tattersalls December Mares Sales for owners John Collinson, Paul Bettany and Costa Feneridis, Clerihew’s first foal is the seven-times winning racemare Aluminium Bikerack. Her second foal to race is GR.1 TOORAK HANDICAP winner, HE'S OUR ROKKII. Followed by foaling an outstanding colt by Charm Spirit at Wentwood Grange in Cambridge the day following HE'S OUR ROKKII success in Melbourne’s feature 1600m event.
